IMHCA has invited attorney Shane Bengoechea, an experienced attorney in business, health care, and insurance, to assist counselors in identifying and appropriately handling legal and ethical issues that can arise in our profession.
Attendees can expect to learn how to:
Navigate insurance audits - from pre-audit requests to claims reviews
Address disciplinary matters & proceedings - subpoenas, duty to respond, confidentiality, and limiting disclosure
Legally and Ethically use telehealth in Idaho and across state lines.
Shane O. Bengoechea is the owner of the law firm of Bengoechea Law Offices, P.C., in Boise, where he has a general practice with emphasis in the areas of health care, insurance, personal injury, business, contracts and corporate law. Prior to being in private practice, Mr. Bengoechea was Of Counsel for Saetrum Law Offices, the Chief Staff Attorney for Blue Cross of Idaho, City Attorney for the City of Twin Falls, ID, Assistant Attorney General in Taxation for the State of Idaho and Assistant City Attorney for Boise. Mr. Bengoechea taught business law as an adjunct professor for College of Southern Idaho and BSU. Mr. Bengoechea received his law degree from Gonzaga School of Law and is a member of the Idaho Bar and the United State District Court of Idaho. He is a frequent speaker on legal topics including health care, business, mental health, governmental and other areas of law.
