RESCHEDULED TRAINING FROM MARCH:

This training on Telemental Health is Part 2 of a comprehensive series and requires that you have taken Part 1. If you were unable to participate in the January 24th training in person; then you can complete the course online, so you are fully prepared and ready to engage. Please contact info@idahomhca.org for more information on getting Part 1.

Our profession has begun to utilize Telemental Health as a tool that allows you to meet your clients where they are, not just clinically but also logistically.  Electronically crossing great distances to foster the strong bond between client and provider comes with its own set of considerations: legal, ethical and technical.  Please join Roy Huggins’ presentation for

Idaho’s Mental Health Counselors Associations 6 Ethics CE hours continuing education event, “Launching Yourself into Cyberspace: How to Establish an Ethical, Legal, Therapy-Affirming Telemental Health Practice.”

This course will address the vital components on how to reach your clients no matter where they are safely, securely, and successfully.

As a tech expert and mental health counselor, Roy will be the bridge from the digital world to real world client care by translating the legal and technical jargon into clear and actionable information that you can apply directly to your practice and your clients’ care. He will provide the informational tools that lay the groundwork for how you ethically ensure client privacy and maintain HIPAA compliance while providing Telemental Health services. The course is designed to be fully encompassing; a guide from concepts to practical actions, and from implementation to long-term successful outcomes.

Because the client is truly the center of our decisions as clinicians, in addition, the presentation will also address ways to ensure a personal and engaging experience that will foster the relationship with your client.  To make sure that you have actionable and implementable instruction, Roy will help you identify the needed protocols, navigate emergencies, and explain the rubrics to understand and vet technology for your personal practice needs.  Join us in the journey of Telemental Health where distance is no longer an obstacle.

Presented by:

Roy worked as a professional Web developer for 7 years before changing paths, and makes it his mission to grow clinicians' understanding of the Internet and other electronic communications mediums for the future of our practices an our professions.
