Allison Willets LCPC, NCC, ACMHC, and Danielle Basye MS. RD, LD, RYT will help attendees learn how to collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team when treating eating disorders. The role of a dietitian and therapist in addressing and treating eating disorders in adolescents and adults will be introduced, with an emphasis on how to network with various team members. Attendees will also learn about evidenced based approaches to treating eating disorders and be given resources to utilize when unsure about level of care required for effective patient treatment.

Learning Objectives for Session:
  • Participants will be able to recognize the importance of collaborating as part of multidisciplinary team when treating eating disorders. 
  • Participants will learn the role of a counselor in eating disorder treatment, as well as basic interventions that can be used and when to refer to a higher level of care.
  • Participants will learn the role of a dietitian in eating disorder treatment, as well the importance of advocacy as part of professional ethics.
